Lion Dance has been part of China's Culture for over 1,500 Years. It is one highlight that has been used for generations to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The Lion Dance is also used for other celebrations too such marriages, business openings, fairs, recognition of anniversaries. This is because the Lion Dance is considered as a blessing. In one historical story it was believed that the Lion is a courages and honorouble animal, which is also a mystical pet of the gods, came to a village and protected it against evil. One day the Lion had to leave and and it was not able to protect the village any longer, but the villagers came up with an idea to make their own look alike Lion from bamboo and papermache. Brave and energetic martial artists were asked to dance in the Lion Costume. Dancing in the costume took a huge amount of physical work, coordination, and skills to bring out the characteristics of the Lion. To this day the Lion Dance is part of China's heritage and is believed
that it is a great honour to have a Lion Dance performed for your event
or celebration.

Our Association Lion Dance Team have performed in many events including Carnivals,
Restaurant Openings, Shopping Centre Promotions, Weddings, Exhibitions. One
of our best pleasures is when we perform in schools and we were most honoured
to have performed in Cheams, which has a long history from 1645 and was also
attended by Prince Charles.
We have had the pleasure of learning our skills directly from Hong Kong, and China. Our Lion Dance Team is a non-profit making dance team. Our raised funds goes towards our chosen charity, renewing the costumes, costs, and investment in training experiences for our Lion Dance Team.
